‘IT’S NOT AN EASY JOURNEY’ CATHERINE KASAVULI OPENS UP ON BATTLING CERVICAL CANCER

TV personality, Catherine Kasavuli has spoken for the first time about her recent health battle with cervical cancer.

In a lengthy post, Kasavuli said the journey has not been easy, “Last one month has really been crazy for me, I want to take this moment and appreciate my family, colleagues in the media industry, Catherine Kasavuli Foundation team, my doctors, friends, strangers, online community; I wish I could respond to all your messages, I see them and I’m really humbled. May God remember you.

To special people that have come forth to donate blood may God bless you, may he enrich your beautiful souls, may He meet with the desires of your heart. To special souls that are contributing towards my medical bill, I love you so much and God bless you .

It’s not an easy journey but I believe in God’s faithfulness and breakthrough. To anyone fighting the same struggle – I love you, we shall overcome, life is a beautiful thing and we shall live to tell our stories. God bless you.”

On November 7, Citizen TV new anchor, Francis Gachuri sent out an urgent appeal for blood donations for Kasavuli who is hospitalised at the Kenyatta National Hospital.“Legendary newscaster Catherine Kasavuli is hospitalised at the KNH Private Wing after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. She urgently needs blood. Kindly avail yourself and donate. Kindly donate any group of blood, the hospital will handle it appropriately. Thank you.”

Two years ago, Kasavuli made a comeback on TV. She was unveiled as part of the rebranding by the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). In a video posted on social media. Kasavuli expressed joy on her return to the national broadcaster after 31 years. “It’s so wonderful to be back home. There is nowhere like home. After 31 years, what a feeling,” she said in the video.
