WAMBUI COLLYMORE SENDS BIRTHDAY MESSAGE TO LATE HUSBAND

Wambui Kamiru, on Friday, January 13, sent a sweet birthday message to her late husband, Bob Collymore.

Wambui shared a photo of Collymore and wrote, “Happy birthday @bobcollymore- to memories. The place where your presence now lives.”

In February last year, Kamiru showcased her installation All My Venus Days on processing grief after she lost her husband to cancer,  “I am an artist, and to get to the next stage or clarify for myself, this is the only form that I could think of. The first part of the installation is Home is Where His Clothes Are I-VI, photos of Collymore’s wardrobe taken a week after his death. Placed behind sheer curtains, it feels like you have entered into a space to experience, “how time can stop around material objects,” she told the East African.

Collymore died on July 1, 2019, at his home in Kitisuru from acute myeloid leukaemia.
