After years of online bullying, actress Celestine Gachuhi has asked netizens to stop bullying her friend Azziad Nasenya.

On Wednesday, Gachuhi posted on social media that Azziad, has been a victim of social media bullying for too long and has been receiving immense hate. She urged her followers to foster a positive online community.

Today, I want to address a crucial issue that affects so many of us, especially those in the public eye. Cyber bullying is a serious problem that has lasting effects on its victims. My dear friends, @azz_iad has been a victim for too long.

No one should have to face hatred, harassment or hurtful comments online. We are all human beings with emotions, dreams and aspirations. Behind every profile picture is a real person with real feelings. We need to remember that words carry power, and they can either build someone up or tear them down,” she said in a statement.

Adding, “I urge all of you, my amazing followers, to join me in fostering a positive and compassionate online community. Let’s use our platform to lift each other up, to inspire, to educate and to spread kindness like wildfire. Your Words have the power to create a ripple effect of change. So let’s use them for good.”

She also encouraged her followers to speak against online bullying, “If you ever came across cyber bullying, please don’t stay silent. Speak out against it, report it and stand in solidarity with the victims. Remember, together we can make a difference. Let’s be allies, not by bystanders. Spread love, not hate. Let’s be the light that shines through the darkness.”
