Anita Nderu’s husband Barrett Raftery ushered in a new decade over the weekend, his wife marked the occasion with a sweet Instagram post honouring her husband.
“I often think about how a single decision we make can change the course of our lives in unimaginable ways. I didn’t care much for these thoughts before, as much as I do these days. The day Ivy introduced me to you would always live as a proof of how you make plans, and God laughs positively.
I said yes to meeting a friend and ended up with the most incredible human being to navigate life with. 8 billion people and we chose each other. I believe in luck now. Happy Birthday sweetheart. May the universe give you in massive portions what you give it daily. You are my favourite part of our daily,” she wrote.
The couple threw an 80’s themed birthday party but Anita was not able to attend, “The universe has been cruel to me this evening. I am so sick I couldn’t even make it to Barrette’s party but I am grateful for our wonderful friends and family for keeping the party going. This will sting for a loooooong time,” she added.
As part of his birthday, Barrett asked his friends to contribute to an orphanage they support, “Barrett and I would like to thank all of our wonderful friends, friends of friends and family who contributed to the orphanage we support that we visited today for making time to visit with us. We are so grateful. We appreciate you deeply. As a birthday gift, Barrette asked for contribution to the home we support. It was a wonderful visit.”
