COUNTRY 49 DIRECTOR LIKARION WAINAINA MARKS 6 YEARS OF SOBRIETY

Kenyan filmmaker and director Likarion Wainaina marked six years of being sober, Likarion opened up about his sobriety journey and shared a message to people, who wish to give up alcohol for good. 

“And just like that I celebrate my sixth year of sobriety. 6 years of no alcohol. I always selfishly thought I was the only one trying to stay sober in an industry that does everything over a couple of drinks until I found other industry professionals (more than I could imagine) on the same journey as I was and it was really encouraging.”

He encouraged those who want to quit alcohol to take it a day at a time, “If you are out there and you are starting out on this sober journey or you are in the middle of it, be encouraged that you are not alone in this. You just take it one day at a time and before you know it, you will be taking it one year at a time. So here’s to another year of sobriety 🥂 Ah oops! 😅 They don’t have two juices toasting 😂🤷🏽‍♂️ Oh well 🧃🧃#HuyuNiWaSodaTu”
