SCAR MKADINALI ADVISES WOMEN TO GET MARRIED TO REDUCE FEMICIDE
Kenyan rapper Scar Mkadinali faced criticism from Kenyans for suggesting that early marriage could be a preventative measure against femicide.
Through his X account, he said, “One way of reducing femicide is by advising our women to get married by the age of 23yrs. Married women rarely go to Airbnb n clubs. This is not rocket science come on. #RongRende.”
Social media users took his comment section to react:
“You know the influence you have, especially on young men, and go on to give the worst take I’ve seen all day. disgusting,” said musician Chair Kicker.
“If a woman and a man agree to go to a BnB and the man plans to kill the lady how is demonstrations, marriage, moving #stopkillingwomen or any other thing supposed to stop that…even securities in BnB’s can’t detect it it goes down to a woman being careful to persons they associate,” Aron Sum noted.
“I wish artists, celebrities, public figures etc spoke more on issues but more & more it’s abundantly clear that most of them should really just shut up and keep making their music. Chappelle had a point “stop worshipping celebrities so much” most of them have nothing useful to offer,” Staff added.
“Definitely didn’t expect anything more from a person who thought siitishi ruhusa kuguza is a great addition to a song. Umbwaaa!” Muguru wrote.
