CAROLINE MUTOKO BIDS FAREWELL TO RADIO AFRICA GROUP COLLEAGUES

By  |

On Thursday, August 2, marked the official exit of Queen of Radio Caroline Mutoko from Radio Africa Group after 23 years with the company.

In a farewell ceremony, Caroline who was the Head of Omnichannel and Client Solutions, said she will soon announce her next move but in the meantime, she will be using her time to bond with her two children. “Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for your backing and support. Thank you for building me & giving me a career. Finally, Thank you for letting me go with joy, pomp, and above all your blessings & best wishes. Thank you,” she said.

Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo and Group General Manager Martin Khafafa bid farewell to the Queen of Radio, while acknowledging her huge contribution to the company.

In September 2014, Caroline quit her radio job. Speaking in a recent interview, the former radio queen stated that she does not miss being on air and has never regretted her decision to quit radio.

I don’t miss radio, I gave my best at Kiss FM for 14 years and at Capital FM for four and a half years. We did the best we could for each other,” Mutoko told Nairobi News. To be honest, if I wanted a radio experience, I would start a podcast. This is because a podcast is a high-breed radio. If you are podcasting and you have your cameras there, you’ve got a fantastic meeting with your audience. I would do a podcast rather than return to radio.”
