TALIA OYANDO REFLECTS ON MEETING SEAN PAUL 20 YEARS AGO
Celebrated radio personality Talia Oyando recently commemorated 20 years since her first-ever stage appearance as an MC, a night she shared with global reggae superstar Sean Paul.
In a nostalgic post, Talia recounted the memorable moments that shaped her career. “20 years ago, I got on stage for the very first time as an MC, and it was for Sean Paul. I remember that night like it was yesterday – the outfit, the painful boots, and the exhilarating chaos of being rushed between the stage and the OB van to do my live radio show. That night, I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” she shared.
She braved the stage with nerves to emceeing another performance the following day in Mombasa. “I have been on stage with some of the greatest artists in the world, and I am truly grateful that this is my life. God is good,” she added.
Talia’s recollection was filled with humour including being part of the convoy that picked Sean Paul up from the airport in a tiny convertible that got stranded in the rain. “I had a really cool maroon backless crop top but HR brought me this huge t-shirt and made sure I wore it. I was Vex. Pss: The day before we picked Sean Paul from the airport @imlilmo and I were part of the convoy in a tiny convertible it started raining and we were stranded story for another day Psss: Find someone who looks at you the way Sean Paul looks at me. ‘Id do it all over again.”
