GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES FREE ENTRY TO ALL NATIONAL PARKS ON SEPTEMBER 27
In a move to celebrate the World Tourism Day, the Kenyan government has announced free entry for all citizens to the country’s national parks, reserves and sanctuaries on Saturday, September 27.
The announcement was made by the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Rebecca Mano, who stated that the initiative is part of the celebrations under this year’s global theme: “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”
The offer applies to all protected areas managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). The move is designed to allow Kenyans to reconnect with the nation’s renowned wildlife heritage and to foster a deeper sense of collective responsibility towards conservation.
“This initiative is an opportunity for every Kenyan to reconnect with our breathtaking wildlife heritage, deepen our collective commitment to conservation, and experience the unparalleled beauty of our natural treasures,” the Cabinet Secretary said in a public notice.
She further said that opening the gates to these iconic spaces aims to build a public appreciation for Kenya’s rich biodiversity and inspire a lasting commitment to protect it for future generations. Citizens are encouraged to take full advantage of the day to explore the country’s natural wonders, described as not only a national pride but a heritage for the entire world.
