WODE MAYA OPENS UP ABOUT 4-YEAR FERTILITY STRUGGLE WITH WIFE

Ghanaian YouTuber and travel content creator Wode Maya has shared the private heartbreak he and his Kenyan wife, Miss Trudy, have endured over the past four years. 

The couple has been navigating the painful journey of recurrent miscarriages, a struggle they kept private while Maya’s public career continued to grow. In an interview, he described the period of his life, “Everyone should expect a different Wode Maya,” he stated. “You wouldn’t believe that it has been a struggle for four good years. Nobody knew the tears behind the scenes… how you have to show up for people and you are not good.”

He said while his YouTube numbers were growing, he was struggling in private. “I hit a million subscribers in 2021, and the moment I hit that million, that’s when everything started. I have been grinding to almost 2 million, and nobody knew what I went through. If numbers had a mouth, they would have spoken to say how I struggled to get there.”

The creator explained that extended breaks from YouTube, sometimes lasting five months, were often misinterpreted by his audience. “People would think I just want to take a break, but it is because something happened and I had to stay back,” he shared. “It was tough, but it taught me a lot of lessons.”

Looking forward, Maya added, “I can’t wait to bring out the new version of me. It is something no one has ever seen before.” He concluded with a tribute to his wife, calling her “an incredible, hardworking woman” and “the most beautiful person I have ever met in my whole life. In my next life, I want to meet her again.”
