Jaymo Ule Msee Claims Sifuna is an Overhyped Political Socialite

Content creator and aspiring politician Wilson Muirani Gathoni, popularly known as Jaymo Ule Msee, has critiqued Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, dismissing him as an “overhyped political socialite” and questioning his leadership credentials .

In a video shared on his social media platforms on Monday, July 27, 2026, Jaymo urged Kenyans to evaluate Sifuna’s track record before endorsing him for higher office, arguing that leadership should be measured by tangible results rather than popularity .

“Sifuna is not a leader, just overhyped. I know most of you are excited about Sifuna; it is good to be excited,” Jaymo said. “But allow me to tell you this: a leader is chosen because of track record. Even in companies where you work, how do you promote people? You promote people after they do something significant, it’s based on a track record.”

Jaymo, who recently announced that he will contest the Nairobi Senate seat in the 2027 General Election, questioned what Sifuna has achieved during his time as ODM Secretary General and Nairobi Senator. “Sifuna has been Secretary General of ODM. I have not heard any ODM member say, ‘When Sifuna was SG, ODM became…’ I have not heard that,” Jaymo stated .

He further challenged Nairobi residents: “What has Sifuna done as Nairobi Senator to make you say, ‘Wacha sasa akuwe president?’ Before you get Sifunated, just check on his track record” .

Jaymo also claimed that Sifuna’s political rise has largely been driven by senior leaders rather than his own merit. “He became Secretary General of ODM because of Raila, he became Senator because Raila pushed him. Now there are elders who want to push him further,” he alleged .
