Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu has urged club host Ciggie Johnson to remain a father to the 12-year-old girl he has raised since birth, despite a DNA test revealing he is not her biological parent.

In a video shared on his social media platforms, Mwakideu addressed Ciggie directly, saying that the relationship built over 12 years carries a weight that a DNA result cannot simply undo. “Don’t listen to them. I am a father of a 12-year-old daughter. You have created a 12-year relationship with this little girl, nothing can take away that, it is special,” Mwakideu said.

The radio personality drew from his own experience as a father, noting that even if he were to undergo a DNA test, it would not change how he feels about his daughters. “She calls you dad, big people’s mistake should not be blamed on children,” he continued. “Issues are between you and the mother, man up.”

Mwakideu stressed that whatever disagreement exists between Ciggie and the child’s mother should be handled separately from the relationship between Ciggie and the girl, who has grown up knowing him as her father.

The club host, shared the DNA results in an emotional video posted to Instagram on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Filmed inside a car, the clip captured a phone conversation with the girl’s mother, who told him he had been “excluded as the biological father”. Visibly frustrated, Ciggie pushed back against the clinical language, saying, “Stop complicated English. DNA says I am not the father”.

The mother expressed her own surprise at the outcome, telling him she had believed the result would be positive. During the call, Ciggie reminded her that he had paid rent and school fees for the child since birth, and had taken responsibility for her upbringing over the past 12 years.
