FOUNDER OF ADAWNAGE BAND KAKI MWIHAKI SIGNED BY AMERICAN RECORD LABEL
Singer and founder of Kenya’s renowned gospel band Adawnage, Kaki Mwihaki has embarked on a solo music career, currently signed by US based Magichands Music.
Speaking to Buzz Central exclusively, she said, “The new Kaki is walking a very interesting solo music journey. I’m currently in Atlanta, Georgia composing, recording and releasing some of my best work ever, inspired by life’s experiences and led by the spirit of God.
This year, I got signed by US based record label Magichands Music. They have sponsored my recent productions, single releases, promotions and continue to work hard on distributing my music as well as putting strategies in place for the launch of my EP and Solo Debut Album.”
Mwihaki says her transition from a band to full time solo career has had some challenges, “I transitioned from Adawnage band into a full-time solo music career. It hasn’t been easy but the challenges have certainly built me into a better artist.
My mission is to speak life, sing life and change lives. My songs carry the message of hope, healing and restoration that I found in God.”
Talking about life after divorce the Tabibu hitmaker said, “Life after divorce can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be the worst. A lot depends on your perspective, your willingness to seek help and how you adapt to your new situation.
You can make it a life transition that’s difficult but ultimately rewarding, or it can be the most miserable period of your life. It might sound flippant to say that the choice is up to you, but that really is the case.
I had great support from my pastor, family and counselor. They were all instrumental in my getting back up again.”
Her plans for the future is to release her debut album, “I just released a single called Tabibu, video was directed by Terrance Crowley Productions and audio produced by Edoby beats.
I’m currently working on an EP and debut album; my Management is putting together a collection for my fans to enjoy as I complete the album. I am building a mentorship program with the help of my Management for the youth.
I also started an engaging talk forum called “Come Tuongee” that is an interactive conversational group forum where we gather to share on life’s experiences and get help to transform into the best versions of ourselves.”
