DAD WAS PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE TO MUM, I’M GLAD SHE LEFT HIM-ADELLE ONYANGO

On the latest episode of her podcast Legally Clueless, radio personality Adelle Onyango hosts a guest who talks about growing in a violent home.

Adelle also shares her own story on social media, “This week’s episode of legally clueless reminds me of all the times in therapy, we connected certain things I struggle with, to my dad being physically abusive to my mum. I’m very glad she left him.

One main thing is struggling to express anger because I subconsciously thought anger has to be loud, abusive, screaming etc. So, I’d avoid it. Suck it up or just block the person quick and fast. Anger avoided lol. But there are healthy ways to express anger and it’s a normal emotion.

I still block people very fast, still fear it getting to screaming matches but I do tell you why I’m blocking you beforehand ‘progress ha ha’ but I block before people respond ‘not progress’.”
