MACHACHARI ACTOR BAHA SAYS IT IS DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO GET ACTING ROLES

By  |

Former Machachari actor Baha has been in the entertainment industry since he was a child, having made his debut on Machachari TV series. But throughout his acting career Baha says it is hard for him to to get acting roles.

To be honest there is no sure bet profession in Kenya, it’s just trying and those who try the best they make it. I have been typecasted and people see I can only do that role the best and cannot be versatile and do other roles.

As an actor, you can only make money on public appearances and support from brand deals. For actors you don’t get roles easily, look at the kids stars even internationally they are frustrated because studios have typecasted them.

I have also suffered and most of the Kenyan actors have faced that even the late Papa Shirandula. People want newer faces; the broadcasting companies give you 25 percent the rest is for you to build for yourself. I paid my high school fees with my brother’s from acting.”
