MISSION TO RESCUE FILM IS KENYA’S OFFICIAL SUBMISSION FOR THE OSCARS

Kenyan film Mission to Rescue has been submitted to the 94th edition of The Oscars. If selected, the award-winning film will represent Kenya under the Best International Feature Film category.

Sharing the good news on social media, the film’s production company Foxton Media wrote, “The Oscar Selelction Committee – Kenya has selected Mission to Rescue as the Kenyan submission to the 94th Edition of Academy Awards popularly known as the Oscars! Mission to Rescue will represent Kenya under the Best International Feature Film category at the Academy Awards.” 

Reacting to the news, top Kenyan actor Melvin Alusa said the selection came as honour, “Such an honour, thank you Lord,” wrote Alusa. This came four months after the film won Best East African Film at the Zanzibar Intetnational Film Festival (ZIFF) and Alusa who plays Captain Baraza in the highly rated film scooped the Best Actor award. “Mission to Rescue wins Best East African Film award at The Zanzibar International Film Festival and our very own Captain Baraza wins Best Actor,” wrote Foxton Media.
