PROFESSOR JAY REVEALS FAMILY SOLD HIS ASSETS WHILE IN HOSPITAL
Tanzanian rapper and politician Joseph Haule popularly known as Professor Jay has disclosed that his family sold most of his assets while he was hospitalised in critical condition.
Despite losing his wealth, the 48-year-old remains grateful to be alive. Speaking candidly about the ordeal with Millard Ayo, Professor Jay explained that his siblings sold his properties without his consent to fund his medical treatment. “My family came together and decided on ways to help me while I was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). They sold many of my assets to save my life. I don’t regret it because those were my assets, and now I am alive. I’m starting over, but I thank God for my life. I can buy new assets again.”
The rapper recalled his battle for survival, saying he never gave up hope. After being moved to home care, he relied on a wheelchair and wore diapers due to his immobility. Later, he sought advanced treatment in India. “I can walk now, but I still have spinal issues from being bedridden for so long,” he said.
Professor Jay’s health crisis began on January 24, 2022, when he was rushed to Lugalo Military Hospital and later transferred to Muhimbili National Hospital in critical condition. Diagnosed with kidney failure, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, he spent 127 days in ICU and a total of 462 days in the hospital, relying on tubes to breathe, eat, and excrete. Doctors gave him just a 40 percent chance of survival, but the legendary rapper has defied the odds and continues to count his blessings.
