PROFESSOR JAY ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL, ZUCHU VISITS FAMILY

Musician and politician Professor Jay has been unwell for three weeks and is currently admitted at Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania. According to Tanzanian rapper A.Y, Professor Jay is undergoing specialized treatment, “Our brother, fellow commander and our dear leader, Mr. Joseph Haule (Prof Jay) has been ill for about 3 weeks now, continuing treatment at Muhimbili National Hospital under special medical supervision. It is encouraging that he is doing well, although at a slower pace, so let us continue to pray for his recovery. With respect to the “right to privacy” the family will announce publicly what is ailing him when the time comes.”

AY also asked his fans to support Professor Jay’s family “Although the family has not asked for help in caring for Jay, we as a community have a responsibility to do so. Jay is a brother to some of us, a family man, a friend, a leader and a musician whose voice has refreshed and touched our hearts for over two decades now. With all that in mind, we have a responsibility to do it. Let us not wait until the family asks for help, let us fulfill our obligation to show him that we are with him in this difficult time. Reports indicate Jay spends more than Tsh4 million a week in hospital. Although the family is struggling to afford those costs, it is not wrong for us to support them.”

Following his illness, fellow artists have reached out to the singer’s family, Wasafi artiste Zuchu visited his wife, “Today I and the whole team of the Goodmorning @wasafifm show we had the opportunity to visit our super woman wife of our legend brother @professorjaytz to wish her well and let her know that we are with her through the difficult period she is going through. Many Tanzanians are with us and we pray for him and our Brother. #getwellsoonleprof.”
