President Museveni’s Daughter Patience Rwabwogo Consecrated as Bishop

Patience Rwabwogo, daughter of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni, has been consecrated as a Bishop in a ceremony that drew religious leaders, dignitaries, and congregants from across the region.

The consecration marks a historic milestone for the first family and Uganda’s faith community, as Rwabwogo steps into spiritual leadership with the full blessing of her parents and the broader Christian fellowship. “I congratulate Bishop Patience and wish her strength and wisdom as she takes on this new responsibility,” President Museveni said, extending his personal blessings to his daughter.

Days before the ceremony, the President and First Lady hosted international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn at State House Entebbe, who had traveled to Uganda specifically for the consecration.

The meeting was marked by warm reflections on the deep and enduring bond between the Osborn family and Uganda, a relationship spanning over four decades.

Dr. Osborn first visited Uganda in 1985 alongside her late mother, a renowned minister who offered spiritual comfort to many Ugandans during one of the nation’s most challenging historical periods. The First Lady fondly recalled how Dr. Osborn’s mother prayed with the Museveni family and gave their children including a young Patience their first Bibles.

“We reflected on Uganda’s transformation over the years and the enduring friendship between the Osborn family and Uganda,” the President shared.

Speaking during the events surrounding the consecration, President Museveni offered a reminder to religious leaders about the true essence of Christianity. “I reminded religious leaders that the substance of Christianity is to heal the sick, feed the hungry and free those in bondage, as Jesus came to do,” he stated.

The President also extended gratitude to Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Bishop LaDonna Osborn for their presence at this important occasion.
