EXCLUSIVE: INSIDE VERA SIDIKA’S FLASHY NEW SPA IN NYALI (PHOTOS)

Vera Sidika has been a busy woman and it’s paying off. She recently opened the glamorous V.S Spa in Nyali after ditching Nairoberry.

In an exclusive interview with Buzz Central, she says,”I closed the salon in Nairobi because I was relocating to Mombasa. I needed to be closer to my business and not abandon in Nairobi for someone else to run it. Plus Mombasa has a lot more opportunities to be greater and explore more.”

Vera has a keen eye for business, stating, “There’s a lack of proper professional salons in Mombasa. I saw an opportunity and grabbed it. I wanted to create an opportunity that would be readily available for clients over here. Most people travel from Mombasa to Nairobi for services so I wanted to bring that right at their doorstep.”

The spa didn’t have the kind of flashy launch Vera would have wanted due to covid-19, so only about 50-60 guests attended but it was still a glitzy affair.

Oh yes, it’s most definitely a high-end spa but she says that the prices are fair noting, “Given that we are high-end, our clients definitely get value for their money.”

The socialite and businesswoman understands her clients needs, stating, “When you come to VS Spa, expect professionalism and well trained staff. Our customer service is top notch and you’ll always want to return after the first visit. We also have staff from Nairobi and a mix from Mombasa as well. I have a highly skillful and talented team.”

Running a business can be super hectic and she has had a hair shop, salon and now a spa so she’s not a quitter and she says, “My spa has a salon, barber and beauty services. No business is easy but you have to give it your all regardless of what people say. Persistence is key and patience goes a long way.”

Sidika never shies away from breaking the Internet every now and then and she comments on the recent steamy photos she shared online saying, “I have been busy working on the spa project for two to three months now and I realized I have been in deeras day in day out. No makeup, no wigs. Handling fundis and being hands-on can sometimes make a lady feel less sexy.

So, I wanted to feel good and remind myself that I still got it. Dress up and it brings some sort of happiness and boosts that confidence more and know you can still gerrriiitttt (in Kagwe’s voice).” She chuckles a little as she says that.

The spa is everything and more you’d expect it to be, “The spa is an experience. We have all services. Salon. Barbershop. Executive barbershop that only serves one client at a time, kids salon, which is separate. Since we don’t want them to distract our adult clients, we’ve made a magical beauty room for kids to play as they get their hair fixed.”

That’s not all, she adds, “We also have a Muslim beauty room for our Muslim sisters who aren’t allowed by religion to show their hair to men. We have body massages, steam room for body steaming and also a Morrocan body scrub, which is our signature service.”
