Actor Mzee Mathiokore, alias David Old Boy famed for his roles on Mashtaka and Gumbaru School TV series is dead. The passing of Mzee was made public by his director and producer Kimatho Iceberg who termed his loss a big blow to the acting industry.
He also recalled Mathiokore’s last moments, noting that he worked with him to the last minute and no one could tell he was not okay. “Four months ago we went to Meru together and did a shoot and we came back but you could tell he was not okay. But it was not a terminal illness. I just heard his demise today in the morning. He was a good chap,” Kimathi wrote in part.
Kimathi further detailed his relations with the departed actor, noting that he was a hard worker despite kicking off his career while a bit older. “I remember the first show we did was great, I was the director at Mashtaka show. Then we did lots of shows together and including my projects. He was a hard worker despite starting in the industry a bit older. He was so clean hearted. His death is a big loss to the industry,” he added.
