LUPITA NYONG’O HONOURS THE LATE AGNES TIROP ON MASHUJAA DAY

Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong’o has honoured departed Olympian Agnes Tirop while marking Mashujaa Day. 

Through her Instagram page, the actress shared a photo of the late athlete, recalling months back when Kenyans celebrated her for representing Kenyans at the Olympics. “On this #MashujaaDay, I’m honouring Agnes Tirop. Just months ago, we celebrated Agnes as she represented Kenya at the Olympics. Now, we tragically mourn her utterly senseless death. Sending my deep condolences, love and strength to her loved ones,” she wrote. 

An autopsy conducted on the body of athlete Agnes Tirop revealed that she died of stab wounds to the neck and blunt force injury inflicted on the head. The postmortem was carried out at the Iten County Referral Hospital, led by Dr. Dorothy Njeru. Tirop was found dead on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County. So far, three suspects have been arrested in connection the murder.
