SELINA ACTOR ABEL AMUNGA SPEAKS ABOUT SELLING SPARE PARTS BEFORE BEING DISCOVERED AND THIEVES ROBBING HIS HOUSE

Actor Abel Amunga spoke about his life before being discovered and joining the acting industry. Speaking with Buzz Central, the actor said he was working as a salesman at an Indian businessman’s shop when he was discovered.

What landed me into acting and doing voice overs was one gentleman who discovered me, I was working for an Indian businessman’s selling spare parts, so every time he would come to buy spare parts he would say, ‘this salesman has a good voice, have you tried radio?’, one day he came and said there was a radio that was starting and they were looking for a presenter and I went did a voice test and I landed a show on KBC,” said Amunga

Amunga who is father of singer Ruth Matete also spoke on her daughter’s lowest moment after losing her husband to a fire accident, “It was really devastating for me, I went through stuff that I never wanted her to know that I was going through because I was the only pillar for her so the only option I had was to stand strong because there were moments that I even felt like tearing but you I could not do that. A lot of people know Abel Amunga as a strong guy but I had periods where I would go back to my house, lock myself and cry, I would do that, or just sit in my car, roll up the windows and cry. I went through that and prayer was my main way of survival. I even went without eating what food and my daughter was going through it. I was sure my daughter had not eaten, why should I eat to feast when my daughter was starving,” he said.

Abel recalled an incident where thieves broke into his house, tied them up and started robbing them, “There are thieves that broke into my house some years back, they tied me up and my daughter; our hands and legs and they started robbing our stuff while we were watching. They stuffed fabrics in my mouth because I was rebuking them and told them to steal whatever they wanted but not touch my daughter, ‘if anyone touches my daughter I will die with you’ so that’s when they took my ties and stuffed inside my mouth,” Amunga narrated.

Adding, “But something reminded me that even if they stuff my mouth so that I don’t talk, there’s a way you can talk using your mind. So I was quoting scripture using my mind saying, ‘let God arise his enemies scatter’ and do you know they took off even before they finished packing, fear just came upon them the only thing they carried was a radio and the rest of the things things were left scattered all over the floor packed up in boxes and my daughter was able to untie herself and came and untied me.”

After some time, the thieves were busted and killed after confessing to stealing from the actor, “I was so mad, I had this rage, I wish I caught one of them but I let God handle it and after a one month, four of the same guys were killed around that area. They were all killed after confessing that they stole from my house. Three were shot and one was set on fire,” Amunga added.
