MC JESSY TO VIE FOR SOUTH IMENTI MP SEAT ON INDEPENDENT TICKET

Popular comedian Jasper Muthomi, alias MC Jessy has announced that he is still eyeing the South Imenti parliamentary seat but is now on an independent ticket.

Initially, Jessy was set to vie for the MP seat under a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket but shelved his ambitions to support his counterpart Mwiti Kathaara in a deal that was negotiated by Deputy President William Ruto.

“MC Jessy will join the presidential campaign team after postponing his parliamentary bid in favour of Mwiti Kathaara for the South Imenti Seat,” Ruto had stated on April 13, 2022.

In a recent social media post, he seems to have declined DP Ruto’s job offer after declaring that he will be on the ballot in the August 9 polls in a bid to succeed the incumbent lawmaker Kathuri Murungi. “Sent like an arrow from a mighty man’s hand. We keep going….. Bado Tuko kwa race. Let’s do this South Imenti, 9th August it is.” He wrote.

Nevertheless, the comedian asserted that he is still backing DP Ruto’s quest to clinch Kenya’s fifth Presidency. “Thank you, my Boss, HE The Deputy President Dr. William Ruto, for your counsel, My support For you remains Intact!”
