POLYCARP OTIENO RAISES CONCERNS OVER NUMBER OF CELEBRITIES RUNNING FOR POLITICAL SEATS

By  |

Sauti Sol guitarist and producer Polycarp Otieno, alias Fancy Fingers has raised concerns over the number of entertainers getting into politics.

In a statement on his Twitter page, the producer questioned the move by most entertainers wondering whether they are seeking positions in government for their personal benefits. “Looks like every entertainer/celebrity in this country is vying for a spot in the new government. Is a political seat the ultimate throne? Or do they really have our best interests at heart? Thoughts,” Polycarp wrote.

Polycarp’s statement sparked reactions from among others, media personality Adele Onyango commented, “Which is absolutely ok but what’s strange is I’ve not seen any present a manifesto that details any strategy for even the creative economy! Just using the new political PR buzzwords “help the youth”….ok, how?” She posed.

Among entertainers vying for various political seats include Tony Kwalanda, Xtian Dela, MC Jessy, Rufftone, DNG and Jalang’o.
