CAPITAL FM’S FARIDA IDRIS CHARGED WITH THREATENING TO KILL EX-LOVER

Capital FM’s Farida Idris has been charged with threatening to kill her ex-lover Hussein Aila Amaro.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, Farida a commercial director pleaded not guilty to the seven counts. 

The alleged offences were committed on June 14 and 15, 2019. Farida allegedly sent threatening messages from her mobile phone to that of the complainant. The court was told that Farida and the complainant were in a relationship for nine years but broke up in 2019.

Her lawyer Peter Wanyama applied for her release on reasonable bond terms. In a ruling, Magistrate Onyina released Farida on a cash bail of Sh100,000. The magistrate also directed the prosecution to supply the accused with copies of witness statements to enable her prepare a defence. The case will be mentioned on May 8.
