‘I WOULD BE DEAD’ MUSICIAN REUBEN KIGAME OPENS UP ABOUT HIS PAST LIFE

By  |

Gospel singer and presidential aspirant Reuben Kigame revealed that he would likely be dead or struggling in life if it weren’t for his salvation.

During the launch of his latest album titled Asante, Kigame shared how his life could have taken a very different turn, “I would be six feet under, just like most of the friends I used to sing with in a secular band that I’ll not name. Some of them died from alcohol, others from drug abuse, and some from risky sexual behaviour. I’m no exception; I could have ended up just like them,” he said.

Kigame admitted that he didn’t always lead an honourable life. “I tried those things before, but I found them completely destructive. If you doubt I could have died from HIV, I have four children and grandchildren, which proves I can sire,” he added.

Kigame encouraged people with disabilities not to let the world limit or demean them. “I’m not saying this to demean anyone, but if you walk down the streets, you’ll see many people sitting by the roadside asking for help. That’s where I’d be if it weren’t for Christ. I sing love songs to Christ because He changed my life.”
