Kenya’s rising swimming star, Sara Mose, delivered a career-defining performance at the 17th Africa Aquatics Junior and Senior Swimming Championships in Oran, Algeria.

The 18-year-old stormed to a bronze medal in the women’s 100m freestyle, obliterating her personal best and setting a new national record. Mose touched the wall at an electrifying 57.49 seconds, drawing cheers from the stands as she stood tall on the podium in her Kenyan kit.

Kenya’s Sara Mose won bronze and set a new national record in the women’s 100m freestyle, clocking 57.49 seconds at the Africa Aquatics Junior and Senior Swimming Championships in Algeria,” confirmed sports journalist Carol Radull.

Mose, who trains in Poland, now has her sights set on upcoming relays and additional medals before the meet concludes. This performance follows Mose’s recent representation of Kenya at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad & Tobago. Despite her youth, she carries the powerful inspiration of marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge, channeling his discipline and belief that “no human is limited.”

The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) congratulated the young star, posting: “Fast swim, big result for #TeamKenya at the 17th Africa Aquatics Swimming Championships in Oran, Algeria. Well done Sara.” With several days of competition remaining, all eyes are on Mose as Kenya looks to close the championships with further podium finishes.
