Kenyan Digital creator Chantelle Petit has been named one of the final 50 candidates in the global search to become Dr. Bombay’s International Ice Cream Taster, a campaign backed by hip-hop icon and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg.
The announcement places Petit among the top 0.02% of applicants worldwide, after more than 350,000 people from 133 countries applied for the role. Petit shared the news with her followers in an emotional social media post, encouraging others to pursue their dreams.
“If you were looking for a sign to bet on yourself today, this is it!” she wrote. “I‘m so grateful to be part of the final 50! Thank you to all who supported me when I posted my video.”
She went on to thank Snoop Dogg, Dr. Bombay Snax and the campaign platform Deel, adding: “Can’t wait for the next steps! I’m still processing guys!”
Petit’s application video was styled as a point-of-view clip, captioned: “POV: You’re one of the final 50 in the running to be Dr Bombay’s International Ice Cream Taster.”
The moment of confirmation came in an email from Deel, which read: “Hi there, Holy Smoko! Out of more than 350,000 applicants from 133 countries, you’ve made it to the final 50 in the running to be an International Ice Cream Taster at Dr. Bombay. That puts you in the top 0.02%, which is about as elite as it gets in the dessert world. 🍨”
Petit’s advancement keeps her in contention for one of the most unconventional and highly sought-after jobs in the food world.
