DCI INVESTIGATING TUJU’S DISAPPEARANCE SEEK UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO HIS HOME
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has begun inquiries into the disappearance of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju.
Authorities confirmed that a missing person report was lodged at Karen Police Station on Sunday, March 22, 2026. According to a statement released by the DCI on the same day, Tuju’s family reported him missing.
His vehicle was later discovered abandoned along Miotoni Lane in Karen, with hazard lights flashing. A security guard alerted officers from Karen Police Station, who responded to the scene.
Crime scene investigators processed the area, and the vehicle was taken to Karen Police Station for additional forensic analysis, the DCI stated. Efforts to reach Tuju have so far failed, as his phone remains switched off. A dedicated team has been assigned to the case and is working alongside other government agencies to locate him.
The investigating team is making use of all available tools and methods to uncover what led to his reported disappearance, the agency said. Investigators mentioned that they faced a challenge when family members declined to grant them access to Tuju’s residence on Mwitu Drive. Authorities are asking for full cooperation from all parties to ensure a quick and complete investigation.
Members of the public have also been asked to share any helpful information, especially from anyone who may have seen Tuju, his vehicle, or unusual activity in the Miotoni Lane or wider Karen area around March 21, 2026 or shortly after.
