Samsung Expands Retail Footprint in Kisii Amid Growing Regional Market

Published

Samsung Electronics East Africa has widened its retail network in Kenya with the launch of its 24th Samsung Experience Store (SES) at Naivas Mall in Kisii, reinforcing the company’s position in one of the country’s emerging commercial hubs.

The new outlet, run by Samsung EIP partner Nexora Agencies, raises Samsung’s total Brand Stores in Kenya to 26, bringing its retail reach to more consumers nationwide.

The move comes as Kisii solidifies its role as a key regional trading centre, underpinned by a robust agricultural sector, vibrant commerce, and a expanding business community. For Samsung, this momentum presents an opportunity to strengthen its connection with consumers and enterprises in Kisii and the surrounding region, while making its product lineup more accessible through a dedicated retail space.

“Kisii represents an important opportunity for Samsung as we continue to grow our presence across Kenya. The region has a strong economic base, an active consumer market and a growing need for technology that supports how people live, work, learn and do business.

Our 24th Samsung Experience Store marks another important step in our retail expansion, bringing Samsung closer to consumers in Kisii while strengthening how we engage with and respond to their evolving needs,” said Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa.

The new store provides customers in Kisii and nearby counties with a purpose-built space to explore Samsung’s latest mobile and consumer electronics range, access product advice, and interact directly with the brand. The investment coincides with a broader transformation in Kenya’s technology sector.

According to the Communications Authority of Kenya, smartphones represented 63.7 per cent of mobile devices connected to Kenyan networks by the third quarter of the 2025/26 financial year, while mobile broadband usage continued to rise. This trend underscores the expanding role of smartphones as tools for communication, financial services, commerce, education, and information access.

For Samsung, growing its physical retail footprint is therefore part of a wider strategy to enhance both product accessibility and the consumer experience surrounding it. A crucial element of broadening smartphone access in Kenya has been the cultivation of partnerships that address different stages of the consumer journey.

Samsung’s collaboration with Watu, a leading asset-financing company, has bolstered the company’s efforts to make smartphone ownership more achievable for a wider segment of consumers. “Partnerships are an important part of how we extend our reach and respond to the realities of the Kenyan market,” said George Kebaso, EIP Lead at Samsung Electronics East Africa.

“Watu has played an important role in our smartphone penetration journey by helping address one of the barriers that consumers can face when acquiring a smartphone which is the upfront cost of a device.“
