Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has urged the public to resist turning Raphael Tuju’s health situation into political theatre, following her visit to the former Cabinet Secretary at Karen Hospital, where he is currently receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit.

In a statement shared after her visit, Passaris detailed her time at thehospital, commending the decision to finally grant Tuju access to treatment and calling on Kenyans to keep him in their prayers for a full and steady recovery.

This evening I visited Raphael Tuju at Karen Hospital, where he is receiving care in the ICU,” Passaris said. “I commend the decision to finally allow Tuju access to treatment. We should continue to keep him in our prayers for a full and steady recovery.

Passaris used the moment to reflect on accountability and the weight of difficult decisions, “There comes a time in life when we must reflect truthfully, and be accountable. Decisions made in difficult moments carry consequences, and it is my hope that he is guided with sound advice, makes wise choices going forward, and priorities his health and peace above all else,” she added.

She also shared concern for a nurse who was injured in the line of duty, extending prayers for her full recovery. “Let us resist the urge to turn this into political theatre. Every challenge has a solution, even if it is not always the one we desire,” she stated.

She concluded by extending prayers to Tuju’s family and to all those facing health struggles. My prayers remain with Raphael Tuju and his family, and with all those fighting one thing or another in and out of hospital tonight. God Bless,” she said.
