‘I’m so Grateful’ Maxine Wahome’s Mother Breaks Silence After Daughter’s Murder Acquittal

Beverly Wahome, mother of rally driver Maxine Wahome, has given thanks to God following the High Court’s decision to acquit her daughter of the murder of her late boyfriend, Assad Khan.

In an emotional reaction to the ruling, Beverly credited divine intervention for the outcome. “To God be all the glory, this is His hand. I’m so grateful he used the senior counsel, this case is done,” she said.

The High Court delivered the acquittal after finding that the prosecution had failed to establish a case against Maxine. The court ruled that the evidence presented by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) fell short of the legal threshold required to sustain a conviction.

Wahome had been charged with the murder of Khan, who succumbed to injuries sustained during an alleged domestic incident. Throughout the proceedings, she maintained her innocence and denied the charge.

The acquittal brings to a close a case that had drawn public attention. Beverly further praised the legal team that represented her daughter, acknowledging their role in securing the favourable ruling.
