Weaving Cultures: KikoRomeo Secures Spot at Moscow Fashion Week
Kenya’s creative sector, heritage fashion label KikoRomeo has been confirmed to showcase its runway collection on the official schedule of Moscow Fashion Week on October 1, 2026.
Set to take place at the renowned Central Exhibition Hall “Manege,” the presentation represents a defining moment for Kenyan fashion on the international stage. Made possible through a strategic partnership with Nairobi Fashion Week, the showcase is poised to unlock new global consumer markets, spotlight Kenyan material intelligence, and strengthen Kenya’s position within the worldwide fashion community.
Established in Nairobi in 1996 by Ann McCreath, KikoRomeo which translates to “Adam’s Apple” in Kiswahili is celebrated as a trailblazer of contemporary Kenyan fashion. Guided by the founding belief that fashion can serve as a tool for cross-cultural dialogue and ethical economic exchange, the brand elevates heritage craftsmanship into architectural, wearable art.

Now under the leadership of Founder Ann McCreath, with Iona McCreath heading Special Projects, KikoRomeo will bring a thoughtfully crafted collection to the Moscow runway. The showcase highlights Kenyan artistry blended with modern tailoring incorporating rainfed organic cottons, handloom fabrics, artistic textiles, zero-waste construction techniques, and distinctive hand-carved coconut shell buttons.
“Earning a spot on the official calendar of Moscow Fashion Week is a groundbreaking moment for Kenya’s fashion industry,” said Brian James Kihindas, Creative Director of Nairobi Fashion Week. “This platform, achieved through our partnership with Moscow Fashion Week, directly advances our mission: to open international markets, support our creative economy, and place Kenya’s remarkable design talent where it rightfully belongs on the global stage.”
“Bringing KikoRomeo to the official calendar of Moscow Fashion Week is a remarkable chance to share our vision on a significant international platform,” added McCreath. “Our fundamental purpose has always been to harness art and fashion as a universal language that unites people and fosters cross-cultural understanding. We are delighted to bring our heritage, material intelligence, and narrative-driven craft to a growing international audience.”
