Actress Jackie Matubia has shared her personal experience with the GLP-1 medication, revealing the side effects she has encountered since starting the treatment.

Matubia, who is currently using Mounjaro, described how dietary restrictions tied to the medication led to a severe reaction. She explained that patients are advised to avoid fatty foods after receiving the injection. “The first day I got the shot, I came home and found the children eating some nice fatty food. I thought, ‘one piece won’t hurt’ I vomited,” she said.

The actress also opened up about an unexpected shift in her body temperature. She noted that she has been feeling unusually cold, a change from her usual habits. “I have been feeling cold. I used to be the person sleeping in shorts and tank tops. Now I’m sleeping with socks, a sweater, and duvets,” she said.

Her sleep patterns have also changed dramatically. Matubia revealed that she once slept at 1 a.m. and woke at 5 a.m., describing herself as a light sleeper. That has since shifted. “Nowadays I’m not a light sleeper,  by 7 p.m. I’m gone,” she said.

According to FDA-approved prescribing information, the most common side effects of Mounjaro include nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, constipation, indigestion and abdominal pain.
