Regina Daniels Talks Health Struggles, Reveals She’s Been Using Wheelchair for Months
Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has disclosed that she has spent months coping with intense pain and difficulty moving, revealing that her condition left her reliant on a wheelchair.
The actress made the revelation in a video shared on her Instagram page on Saturday, coinciding with her 25th birthday, as she explained the reason behind her long absence from social media.
Daniels, a mother of two, said what initially seemed like a small health concern steadily grew worse, eventually making it hard for her to get around and, at times, impossible to walk. “I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence,” she said.
The actress recounted how she had lost the ability to move about freely over the past few months, noting that her situation took a turn for the worse following the children’s carnival she organised. “For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this,” she said.
“But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my children’s day carnival. One test after another, I jokingly started calling myself elaborate. The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried,” she added.
The actress also opened up about the emotional strain of her condition, especially her increasing reliance on others for help with daily tasks.
Explaining her decision to speak publicly about her health, Daniels said recent progress in her recovery had given her the confidence to share her journey with fans and well-wishers.
“Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord,” she said.
She also revealed that she had relocated to be nearer to her loved ones, particularly her children, whom she described as very dear to her heart. Daniels said she had initially rented the property but later decided she wanted to own it after settling in.
