MY DAD SAID I WAS IN A CULT, GRACE EKIRAPA REVEALS WHY SHE HAD TO LEAVE HOME

TV host, Grace Ekirapa has opened up about her difficult relationship with her father.

In an interview, she said, “I found comfort in the house of God when I was really young.

I remember the way children would play but I used to go church, we lived along Jogoo Rd and the was a church nearby St Stephen’s, I would go and sleep at the pulpit because I knew Jesus lived at the church.

I was 13 and I just really loved that environment. My dad said I was in a cult coz I used to go to church most of the time, he thought I was doing other things.”

Ekirapa also shared the reason why she had to move out of her parent’s home immediately after high school, “When I was in form four high school, I knew I wanted to go to bible school.

I finished in November and January I was in theology class and that’s how I actually left home; my dad didn’t understand how he took me to school to be a pastor. But I didn’t become a pastor, I just wanted to know God.”

Talking about challenges on TV she said she once blundered on live show, “I did cry on TV once, I panicked and I forgot what I was supposed to say, it was live. My excuse was the story was really moving.”
