KENYA SCOOPS 22 NOMINATIONS AT AFRIMMA AS SAUTI SOL LEADS WITH 5

Kenyan acts keep on making us proud and they have done it again! Kenyan artists, DJs and TV personalities have gotten a total of 22 nominations for AFRIMMA Awards 2020.

Sauti Sol are currently in the lead with five nominations in Best African Group, Best Live Act, Best Collaboration, Song of the Year and AFRIMMA Video of the Year categories.

Khaligraph Jones follows with three nominations in the Best Male East Africa, Best Male Rap Act and Best Collaboration.

Closing the top three most nominated in Kenya is Tanasha Donna with two nominations in the Best Female East Africa and Best Collaboration categories.

Tanasha was elated for the nomination, writing, “Thank you AFRIMMA for nominating me… means a lot for me to be nominated by Africa’s leading award ceremony. As a new upcoming independent artist with an amazing small team, this is huge for us!”

Other nominees are Otile Brown, Akothee, Fena Gitu, Muthoni Drummer Queen and Nadia Mukami.

Nadia talked about the nomination saying, “Dreams do come true…thank you so much AFRIMMA. The brand is really growing. You have seen me grow from zero to now here… I’m loving the inclusion of Kenyan artists this time.”

Director Enos Olik has also been nominated and Kenyan DJs have not been left behind with DJ Moh, DJ Fully Focus, DJ Poison Ivy and DJ Shinski on the list.

Media personalities Willy M Tuva and Jamal Gadafi have also scored nominations.
