WATHONI ANYANSI: MY BABY DADDY HAS REFUSED TO TAKE A DNA TEST

By  |

Kenyan-Nigerian Big Brother Naija contestant Wathoni Anyansi says her baby daddy has refused to take a DNA test after suggesting it several times. Speaking to Buzz Central, the Sociology graduate talked about her life in Big Brother house and her projects after eviction.

Were you born in Kenya or Nigeria?

My mum and dad met in India they were both studying there then they decided to settle in Kenya. I was born in Kiambu, Kenya in 1991, later we moved to Zimmerman and after 13 years in Kenya, my parents relocated to Nigeria where I continued with my high school and university education. I have never been in Kenya since 2004, I’m planning to visit this year, mum says everything has changed I won’t recognize Kenya.

Do you think you have achieved what you wanted to do in the house?

Yes, I know I’m good with all the 19 other contestants, I have meaningful relationships with them and know I can walk with most of them.

You were called the queen of boo’d up do you think you were desperate in the house?

When I left the house, I was surprised being called ‘boo’d up queen’ in the house we were okay with everyone was getting boo’d up but it was hard to talk to people like Neo and Vee, if you go to their space it is like three is a crowd. For me I just needed to have a person I can talk to and be comfortable with. Then came Brighto I honestly didn’t realise I was getting attached but it happened.

There were times he cooked and I would eat with him and we played a lot, with all those things I got attached. I don’t know how they got that narrative but I wanted to be cool with everyone. In my single days I have stayed up to two years without dating, that is not a desperate person.

You are now selling boo’d up merchandise are fans buying?

I love fashion and after the shock of being called boo’d up queen I decided to turn the negative into positive. When I posted on social media, I got up to 200 orders per day.

You favourite three contestants?

Tolanibaj, Laycon and Brighto

Do you think Nengi will date Ozo?

Sometimes it feels what she is feeling is promising like feelings will grow and Ozo is giving her the attention she likes but it is tricky, she already said she has a boyfriend, I don’t know how that will work after she leaves the house.

You seem like you envied Erica and Kiddwaya relationship, why?

Kiddwaya is just a friend and I don’t have an issue with their relationship. They are good together, Kiddwaya has always been sincere about what he feels, he knows that Erica already has an attachment to him and I like that he is always straight forward with her, he doesn’t want to be a selfish guy.

Do you see yourself dating someone from Big Brother Naija House?

I’m not sure, I really need to make the money. I did not win the 85 million Naira; I need to work towards making it after leaving the house.

What kind of guy would you want to date?

I like intelligent guys who are God fearing, someone who is a good listener. Before I used to like dark skinned guys but now, I’m open.

You went viral when you claimed your child was conceived without having sex, explain that?

I know many referred to him as ‘baby Jesus’ it was so funny. I didn’t know I was pregnant until 22 weeks later, I remembered the first time I had a thing with a guy was five months earlier, I could tell the guy who was responsible for the pregnancy. I called the guy and he said I shouldn’t do anything silly.

But I thought we never actually had sex so how was it possible that it happened? When we were making out, he was flipping his junk on my genitalia without penetration and there was no possibility that I could get pregnant.  I told my friends and they suggested I should find out if I was drugged and raped because everyone knew I didn’t know anything about sex.

Is your baby daddy helping you to take care of the child?

He is not doing anything because he believes its not his, he has suggested several times we do a DNA test but when the time comes, he refuses. He hasn’t seen him for the longest time.

What’s your beef with Dorathy?

There is something she did in the house and I keep saying she played me, I don’t want to go into details because she wouldn’t want me to. I will wait until she leaves the house for her to clear the issue but I still feel we are in a good place.

In the house you were never bothered with make-up as much as your fellow housemates, do hate it?

That’s the Kenyan in me, I love my bare face.

One thing you regret not doing in the house?

Tasks, I feel I was too laid back in the arena games. I tried to put in my best but I was always in groups with opinionated people and it was hard for me to air my view and when I did, they never took into account. Toward the end, I started putting in more effort but I wish I did from the beginning.

What will you miss about Big Brother House?

Big Brother’s voice during diary sessions and Saturday night parties, it actually made me realise even if I’m a terrible dancer, you only live once.

When you left the house and realised you have over 300,000 followers did you expect it?

That was a good surprise, I did not expect that much following. I was like where did this come from? Plus, Wathonians are so loyal and when I saw the verification I teared up. Anytime is see the negative comments I just laugh, because there are many people that care and love me just the way I am.

Who do you think will win?

Laycon or Ozo both of them are relatable. Laycon is talented and Ozo is a great person, I’m rooting for both of them.

Future plans

I will continue with fashion, selling ex UK, US and Turkey products. I would also like to have a lifestyle talk show discussing parenting and publish my book.

I am a journalist, fashion show choreographer, a backstage manager, an actress and the owner of buzzcentral.co.ke. As a journalist, I specifically focus on entertainment and feature writing.
