ERIC WAINAINA TALKS CO-PARENTING WITH VALERIE KIMANI AFTER INFIDELITY

By  |

Musician Eric Wainaina has talked about how he repaired his relationship with his wife Sheba Hirst after infidelity and also co-parenting with the mother of his son Valerie Kimani.

Speaking at an interview, he said his mother advised him to allow his wife Sheba to handle the matter, “Me and Sheba have two daughters and I have a son called Zion; he lives in the US with his mother. He turned 10 in July; he is a great kid. In the beginning, there was a lot of challenges, how do we negotiate this particular situation. Right now, we are in a place where he is a big boy and we have a relationship, his mother is married.

She recently got married and they have a daughter, now the question has become what should he call me? We are having those conversations because of course, he calls Valarie’s husband dad, so what should he call me? Negotiating such kinds of things can only be done with a tremendous degree of honesty. When it was a big wound my mother told me, I got to let Sheba lead this situation and if I do that, everyone is gonna come out on top. Because she is an amazing woman, who is a very just human being, we have come through it.”

Eric acknowledges after the affair was public Valerie had it rough, “Valarie spent a lot of time being known as the person who had this thing with Eric. The problem with that women always get the raw end of the stick as far as their careers, it gets clouded. Yet she is an amazing actor, singer and the mother to my son. I would want her to be known for that.

A fantastic actor who 10 years ago was involved in a situation that was unpleasant but right now there is a 10-year-old boy who is a fantastic kid and there is this woman who carrying on with her life and career. We are in a good place.”
