INFLUENCER YVONNE KANYI TALKS ABOUT CO-PARENTING AFTER SPLIT FROM ACTOR BRIAN OGOLA

Kenyan content creator and single mother Yvonne Kanyi has opened up about co-parenting following her break up with actor Brian Ogola.

In a TikTok video, Kanyi admitted that she rarely ever talks about this aspect of her life, but she decided it was important to create the conversation because every time she becomes vulnerable and shares, she realises that she is not alone in this journey.

She explained that many people are going through the same struggles, and she suggested that single parents might as well hold hands and take solidarity in their shared experiences. She described herself as a single parent or what she termed a solo mom, clarifying that while she does co-parent with her former partner, each person parents in their own time.

Reflecting on her situation, Kanyi shared one of the strangest realisations she has had. She said she was thinking to herself about what she is looking forward to in a hopeful long-term relationship or marriage. More than romance or material support, she is yearning for someone to parent with. “I’m looking forward to a marriage, having someone to parent with, having more kids, the fact that there’ll be two parents in the household, you know, that’ll be nice.”

Kanyi’s admission comes months after her highly publicised relationship with actorOgola came to an end, though she did not dwell on the details of the break up in her video.
