FAMILY CONFIRMS LORNA IRUNGU WAS CREMATED AND PROMISE TO SET UP HER FOUNDATION

The family of media personality and CEO Lorna Irungu has confirmed she was cremated a day after her death on March 23. In a statement released online, “Lorna passed away on Monday 22^nd March 2021 at the Karen Hospital, Nairobi, while undergoing treatment for covid-19 and she was cremated on Tuesday 23^rd March 2021.”

They will also set up her foundation dedicated to the improvement of health policies and support for people living with autoimmune diseases, “To celebrate her life and continuing legacy, her family will set up the Lorna Irungu foundation dedicated to two causes that were close to her heart: the improvement of health policies and support for people living with autoimmune diseases, and the advancement of the rights to women and girls, particularly in leadership and politics.”

Her virtual memorial service will be held on March 27, “A virtual memorial service will be held on Saturday 27^th March from 7pm to celebrate her life.”
