KENYAN PRODUCER JULIET OCHIENG CALLS OUT NIGERIAN PRODUCTION COMPANY WALTBANGER 101 FOR SELLING HER TV SERIES MASCARA

By  |

Former Miss Kenya and now TV producer Juliet Ochieng has called out Nigerian Production company Waltbanger 101 for selling and leasing her TV series Mascara. This after the production company shared the premiere date of the series on their social media account and Juliet fans tagged her on Facebook.

That’s when she realised the TV series which she co-created was sold and her company Jareke Media was not mentioned anywhere, “This is a show I created a few years back and partnered with a few people so it could get produced because the budget was very high, we got the best of the best cast; I even gave up the lead role so that another fantastic woman could carry that part.

Long story short, I wake up today to find that I’m tagged everywhere, my show has clearly been sold and my company Jareke Media is not mentioned anywhere! Plus I have a co-creator! I literally sat in my garden for weeks on end with a pen and paper writing the pilot to this series!

Waltbanger101 productions @dejiphuemz I need answers! This is not right! I have shares and stakes in this series and trust me I won’t take this lying down! Where is @jarekemedia and why wasn’t I consulted in the selling or leasing of my series? I need answers! Abigail Arunga have you seen this?”

According to Waltbanger 101 Productions, Juliet should direct any greviances to Eureka Media who own the title and commissioned the TV series, “Juliet Ochieng is not a sole title holder of mascara to series. Those tights also belong to the executive producers Eureka Media.

Waltbanger 101 production (also a VO-production partner and a credited Executive Producer of Mascara) has express permission/rights from both a co-creator and the title owners of Mascara Eureka Media to exploit the title on behalf of the executive producers. We suggest if she has any greviances they should be directed to Eureka Media who own the title and commissioned the TV series.”
