CATHERINE KASAVULI DISAPPOINTED WITH KAMENE GORO’S JOKE ON MENTAL HEALTH

Veteran journalist Catherine Kasavuli is disappointed with Kiss FM radio presenter Kamene Goro’s joke on mental health

Through her Twitter page, the KBC news anchor stated that she was saddened to see Kamene joke about mental health, “Yesterday I literally cried when I saw someone joking about mental health. These aren’t things to joke about, until it hits home, it hits so different, ask me,” wrote Kasavuli

She further urged people, especially individuals commanding a huge influence to raise positive awareness on mental health instead of making fun about it. “Let’s use our platforms regardless of size to raise positive awareness. Lest I get quoted badly, regardless of the Size of your social platform, if you can’t spread positive awareness at least don’t use it to make fun of mental health,” she added.

Last week, Kamene irked Kenyans after sharing a meme seemingly throwing shade at people suffering from mental health. The meme read; “Mental health na hamna akili (mental health issues yet you don’t have brains).” The post sparked outrage with a section of social media users who trolled her over her weight, forcing her to pull down the post.
