ONE YEAR AFTER PAPA SHIRANDULA’S DEATH, CASTMATES CONTINUE TO HONOUR HIS MEMORY

A section of Papa Shirandula actors on Sunday, July 18 met to commemorate a year since the passing of legendary actor Charles Bukeko, alias Papa Shirandula. In attendance were: Jalang’o, Juma Anderson, Shix Kapienga, Captain Otoyo, Awinja, Mama Nyaguthie, Njoro and Wilbroda

Jalang’o who doubles up as a radio presenter remembered Papa as a mentor and a father figure. “A day like this last year A father figure and a mentor Papa Shirandula passed on! Today we celebrate him! Today we share his life! Time flies! A year is gone! Keep resting.”

Actress Awinja who played the role of Papa’s house help celebrated him with a heartwarming message that read; “A day like today 18th of July we lost our beloved Charles Bukeko and here we are today to celebrate him, I’ve had anxiety this whole week just thinking about our event today, but as they say, time heals.” 

On the other hand, Wibroda celebrated Papa saying; “One year since you’ve gone, we gather to celebrate you! Rest Charles Bukeko.” Papa Shirandula succumbed to COVID-19 on July 18, 2020, at the Karen Hospital, where he had been rushed to after feeling unwell. He was survived by a wife and three children.
