Deputy President William Ruto’s son Nick Ruto married his long term lover Evelyn Chemtai in a traditional ceremony commonly referred to as koito in the Kalenjin community

The ceremony is a wedding ritual that involves dowry negotiations and payments and it is held before the white wedding. According to photos from the ceremony, Nick wore a white outfit that had a touch of Ankara and a matching hat while the groom’s men wore blue Ankara outfits with a brown hat.

On the other hand, Nick’s mum Rachel Ruto rocked a puffed-short sleeve purple kitenge with a matching fascinator while DP Rutodonned a purple-print shirt, a pair of black trousers and a black hat.

Nick’s siblings Charlene Ruto and George Ruto were also present at the ceremony. Their grandmother, Mama Sarah Samoei was also in attendance. Below are photos from the colorful pre-wedding ceremony.
