ROBERT ALAI CRITICISES AZZIAD NASENYA’S APPOINTMENT TO GOVERNMENT

By  |

Politician Robert Alai has criticised the appointment of content creator and radio host Azziad Nasenya to the Creatives Technical Committee established by Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.

In a tweet, Alai said Azziad doesn’t understand anything about the creative economy, “I love and respect Azziad.  However, I don’t know her competence. Beyond TikTok dancing, I don’t understand what serious things she knows about the creative economy or even identifying talent. We have enough Kenyans who know much more about this. I can share some names.”

However, Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) came to Azziad’s defense, “This statement is good for the likes however it’s hollow and stale. You can only make fun of Raila but even if you lived for a thousand years you’d never achieve even 10% of what he has with respect to politics and democracy.” said Odanga Milimu.

Macharia Wangui added, “Experience doesn’t come by reading books alone. We have experts who have never gone to school. Azziad understands the dynamics on how to earn from such platforms.” “The girl has more credentials than just dancing. Find her and ask. She will add value,” noted Stephen Nyabwa.

Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi, musicians Akothee and Wahu Kagwi are among personalities appointed into the newly established Talanta Hela Council.
