GEORGE ITUMO WINS FIRST BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU TOURNAMENT

The first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Invitational Tournament took place in Nairobi, Kenya at Alchemist Bar featured some of the finest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia; with Kenya Team One Tribe BJJ emerging winners. 

The main tournament bracket was won by Kenya’s George ‘The Maverick’ Itumo of One Tribe BJJ. The superlight winners were Ouhsummer Ali of Mombasa Sharks who defeated Ethiopia’s Yered Nigusse of Kao Bjj.

The second super fight of the day was won by Omer Jemal of One Tribe BJJ who defeated Gruj Knezevic of Dar MMA. Theepic tournament and event, supported by the Brazilian Embassy and The Alchemist, brought Jiu Jitsu enthusiasts, martial arts lovers, and sports fans together to witness synergy in technique, agility, and determination from the competing athletes.

The tournament drew athletes from MMA Dar (Tanzania), One Tribe BJJ (Kenya), Kao Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Gulu Gracie Barra (Uganda) and Mombasa Sharks (Kenya) who came together to showcase their mastery on the mat.
