ABEL MUTUA AND JUDY NYAWIRA CELEBRATE THEIR 15TH ANNIVERSARY

Actor Abel Mutua and his wife Judy Nyawira marked a major marriage milestone. The couple celebrated their 15th anniversary on November 20, “15 years later. God has been so good to us,” the couple wrote on their respective accounts.

The two met in college at Kenya School of Mass Communication, she was a first-year and he was in his final year. “Most of the boys had tried to woo her but none was able to get her attention. When I got that information, I decided to take up the challenge and try my luck,” Abel revealed.

Judy got pregnant during her final year and Abel visited her home to inform her mother of his intentions to raise the child and take care of her. “We carried out four pregnancy tests to be certain of the outcome. I cried the entire day and just like that at the age of 22 and Abel at 23, we realised that we would be parents. I did not go home for six months. My mum was working at a casual job then and I did not know how she would take it,” Judy stated. 

In an interview with Lynn Ngugi, Nyawira shared why their marriage works, “There are times I have made more money than him, there are times he makes more, submission is understanding that. We have never fought about money. There is no ‘my money’ in our relationship. If I am in a position to do something I do it because I want to. Understanding there are different seasons in marriage and that whatever happens he is the head is important.”
