By  |

Popular graffiti artist Bankslave has unveiled his new mural inspired by Mau May leader Dedan Kimathi.

The mural was part of an exchange programme with New Orleans artist Brandan  Odums. So happy and pleasantly surprised to see this Dedan Kimathi mural in New Orleans. Wait, Bankslave did this. I was with a Kenyan artist and activist named @wanjirumunjiru ‘Ciro Gi’ on this programme. Our host @mwendersinsuspenders got the perfect wall for us and gave us an emotional tour in the plantations of lousiana about -black history- … This was where i got inspired to paint this 3storey mural… get a picture on it and tag your fellow kenyans in #Nola #weareourancestorswildestdreams” Bankslave wrote.

Recently, Bankslave dedicated one of his new street murals to popular musician E-Sir. He unveiled in the latest mural at Fort Jesus in Mombasa, “Chrome and Black piece of #esir on walls of FortJesus. One of the Originators, A Poet from our soil.. he inspired many with Tunes with rhyme and reason. #Esir mmari salute! #ripesir #chromegraffiti #chrome #graffiti #boombatrain #esir #esirmmari #ogopadeejays #siusare.”
